AR VS VR

AR, augmented reality, is when the a 3-dimensional world is overlaid digitally using some sort of technology. Examples include Pokemon go, where pokemon could be seen when your phone was aimed in the correct place.

VR, virtual reality, is a completely digital world created by a device. They are controlled by the user's movements, such as when their head turns, the digital world turns with them. Examples include the Oculus rift.

2. VR is being used by doctors to construct digital versions of bodily scans so they can be 3 dimensional and easier to view. Then, these scans can be used for virtual training.

Museums are using VR to make their experiences better, as users can be transported to a museum in their own home. The British Museum in London and the Natural History in NYC have already started this.

For augmented reality, construction companies are looking at ways of "blowing up" items to further see how they could fir into the real world. Other uses include mapping pipes across places where they are planned to be.

Sports games, especially football use augmented reality and we don't even realize it. The lines across the field in sports games are all augmented on the screen by computers.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02907792362418515546noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4940581188506663178.post-20681554644124671872017-02-27T06:37:00.000-08:002017-02-27T06:39:40.673-08:00Screen Recoding of Program RunningAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02907792362418515546noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4940581188506663178.post-79382896925285434362017-02-17T09:33:00.000-08:002017-02-17T09:33:01.514-08:00Aliens Double AlgorithmThe Aliens algorithm is a program that is determining the score depending on how many specific items there are in a list. A function 'find aliens' is defined, and then counts up each item depending on the color. Each counted number is added to the 'grand total' and multiplied by its respective point number. 'Grand total' calls the function 'check score' which determines the correct number of points to be awarded. After all the totals are counted, the 'grand total' is returned, and the awarded points are fully determined.
The program is squished down into one defined function. The python program has the defined function 'gauss addition' with a 'total' parameter. Total has been set to zero. With gaussian math, adding 1-100 becomes easier. Having to write out that would be tough, and that is what my program does instead. The abstraction takes all of the addition and puts it into one. There is a while loop, along with math, printing and returning.
Well I sure don't. In the the gaussian system, a simple way to add the number 1 - 100 is used. The algorithm in the program is a used to do that. It is a while loop that uses different parameters to loop until the range is reached. A variable 'first number' is equal the variable 'total', which pops in zero. A variable 'last number' is set equal to 'total', which pops in nothing. A variable gauss number is set to sum of 'first number' and 'last number'. A variable 'total sum' is set to 'total sum' plus one. By having this algorithm be a while loop, all of these continuously run until the set range has been met.
Many people had just received their new gaming console and were eager to try it. So many new Xboxs and PS4s for everybody. But that's not how Lizard Squad felt. In a major Ddos attack that week, the hacking group lizard squad brought down Xbox Live and the PS Network, with no monetary benefit for them. They claimed they did it because Microsoft and Sony should not have that big of security flaws in their networks and were opening their eyes. In October of 2016, two 19 year old members of the group were arrested over the attack. Way to ruin christmas.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02907792362418515546noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4940581188506663178.post-40071506870119028642017-01-23T07:37:00.001-08:002017-01-23T07:37:20.548-08:00The Future of the MIT App InventerI do have to admit that the MIT app inventor was a bit of fun. Broadcasting annoying noises across the library was rather entertaining. But how does the inventor fall in place of the curriculum? It is in fact drag and drop, which as advanced intellectuals, we are far ahead of. I still think it should be done in the future, maybe right around christmas time. The Nexus tablets are nice. But whether they're right in the middle of C or python, it may throw things off more than intended.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02907792362418515546noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4940581188506663178.post-81178162913806013112017-01-19T09:12:00.002-08:002017-01-19T09:12:35.278-08:00MIT Blogger and the FutureThe MIT blog takes a look at new advances in data science and how they are effecting the world. The article goes in discussion on how almost every device we use is somehow connected to the Internet. How we get closer to the singularity of artificial intelligence and how memes really do control the world. Seeing as I spend a majority of my time on the Internet, its not uncommon for me to come across this stuff. Crowdsourcing is always fun when used correctly, and the huge amounts of data that computers have to process now. Open access is going to remain important and probably expand from here. The ability of people to have access to apps and such really lends itself to creativity and innovation. Other things such as meta data, and the article referencing Snowden, that's gonna stay also. As the world continues making everything digital, metadata becomes that much more important.
We made an ever so exciting trek to Boston last Friday so we could experience the wonders built in C by the Ivy League students. While there wasn't as much fun stuff to acquire from the economically dominating companies that were present at the booths, there were projects to look at, too. The room was filled to the brim with people. And also computers. Jake and I came across a project that was a book swap type deal, where you could list an old text book for sale so someone else could buy it. Another one (which unfortunately didn't work as a well as planned), would input a picture of a face and try to guess what the expression on the face was. It would definitely be worth taking the class again next year. Taking both the AP and Advanced class, I'm not sure about. I don't see why not tho.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02907792362418515546noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4940581188506663178.post-76472339099628105982016-11-04T06:10:00.001-07:002016-11-04T06:10:18.259-07:00Hacking and Undersea CablesTrump's good friend Putin may be up to something sinister. Its been reported that Russian Submarines have been creeping near the bottom of the ocean near the international internet fiber optic cables. It could lead to an attack on the US's Internet connection, but would probably lead to more damage worldwide as 7 of the 10 most popular websites worldwide are hosted in the US. Granted, the US also has a west coast, and I wouldn't be surprised if the US's internet traffic could be routed through Mexico and Canada. Its not worth it Vladimir, its simply not worth it.

Hacking is a whole other thing. TBT Christmas 2014, I couldn't play Xbox Live because Lizard Squad a ddos attack on Microsoft and Sony. Hacker's can really screw up a lot of thing. Although (depending on what side of the isle you're on), hackers can expose political corruption from internal governments.

As someone who is using devices which are connected to the Internet all the time, the ability to not be plugged in is very important. Although wireless transmitters have existed for about 100 years now, (@Marconi), almost every device has the ability to transmit information wirelessly now. It's not always perfect though. For one device to be wireless, there has to be another device somewhere that it can reach a signal from. As in, if a satellite isn't over head, or a tower anywhere near, a cellphone won't work to well.

My dad choose handheld devices (smartphone, tablet, etc) as his innovation. As an airline pilot for the past 20+ years, the way his job has changed by the introduction of the Internet is incredible. He used to have to carry around a huge binder with info about every airport and runway, now it has all been crushed down into an app on his company iPad. All of the work he does with the plane can all be found on his iPad. Seeing as most airline pilots are nearing their 60s, the sudden introduction of this technology was tough.

Mobile devices pretty much rely on wireless transmitters to exist and function. Without them, the point of a handle device wouldn't exist. The ability to have the entirety of humanity's knowledge in your pocket exists because the internet can be accessed anywhere. More and more satellites are being sent into space to help spread this even more around the planet.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02907792362418515546noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4940581188506663178.post-56389052382802987292016-05-20T06:39:00.003-07:002016-05-20T06:39:25.551-07:00The Internet: IP Addresses and DNS 1. A protocol is the universally accepted form of communication between all computers.

2. An IP (Internet Protocol) Address is the number that determines the computer's location. It is organized in sub levels down to the home location.

3. IPv4 was designed in the 70's and will only be able to hold 4 billion devices. We're slowly switching over to IPv6, which will be able to hold 340 undecillion (2^128) devices.

4. IP Packet is the data being sent, IP address is where it is received.

5. A DNS is a Domain Name Server, and it is responsible for directing a computer to the IP of the website that it requested.
The Ti-84 takes in user input information from the buttons on it and uses it to compute mathematical problems. Less known things about the Ti calculators are that they are programable. Programs to automatically do the quadratic formula up to entire pokemon games can be programmed into the Ti-84. The Ti calculators shows the calculated information on its display screen.
